Travel

Nirvana is a blog section dedicated to travel in the UAE and beyond. In this section, I provide travel tips, hotels and my experiences on the go. I also happen to be a fan of the famous UAE staycations, so check back in here even if you are a tourist! Several aspects of my travels and will include several budget recommendations. I often summarise my total experience to give you a good idea and feel of the places to visit.

As I’m an adrenalin seeker and adventurous by nature, you’ll see a lot of that in this section. :) You’ll always see me hiking and trying out different water sports in the various countries I visit, but I do also enjoy history and culture. My favourite thing to do in a new city is to walk around, so make sure you follow me on my Instagram as I explore the world on my days off. The travel perspective is specific to those who travel from Dubai and or UAE, so I’ll provide you with the most budget-friendly resources to work with.

Instagram journey

  • The entire #DowntownDubai is literally super lit these days thanks to all the lovely art that’s popping up and #ChineseNewYear celebrations! You should defo come down and check it out when you get a chance..so festive!
Tomorrow is my last #MorningOm live before I set off to celebrate my #wedding in India and go for my #honeymoon! I’m gonna be talking about #eatinghealthy on a holiday and how to prep for one where you know you’ll be enjoying so much food and way too many indulgences 🤪🙈 See you tomorrow at 7.15am GST! #balancedeating
  • 🍞+ 🍌 = 😍❤️
Ok, officially rediscovering my love for #baking. Took a random recipe from the Internet, improvised and voila! Banana bread that warms the soul, with no nasties nor refined sources of sugar. 6 ingredients. That is all 🤷🏽‍♀️
I’m trying to create a healthier, #glutenfree version, so watch this space 😊 #Bakingbread
  • That #cheesepull on that #kunafa croissant tho 🥐 😍
I avoid #gluten & #dairy as much as I can, but when it comes to #cheatmeals, I go ahead and have it so I don’t feel deprived. However, with #Hashimotos & #PCOS, having both gluten and dairy are more harmful than helpful as it causes an inflamed gut, among other things. These days I’m constantly trying to eat wiser though, by eating food that is nourishing to my body.
If you’ve ever considered going #glutenfree or #dairyfree, I’ve rounded up 5 reasons why #ontheblog #linkinbio I’ve also listed some great #wholefood substitutes, so check that out too! #wellnessthatworks #balancedeating #wellnessjourney #moderation #glutenfreedairyfree
  • My excitement for #cheatmeals tho 😂
Went to a place called @somewhere in @thedubaimall and I totally overdid the #dairy, but it was pretty good! I reflected back after my meal and decided that I definitely got greedy about it 🤦🏻‍♀️ I overate. A lot than I thought i would. And the damage was done, it totally showed on the scales too. And I’m trying my best to stop feeling guilty about it, and reassure myself my weight will stabilize as long as I eat #nourishingfood and #workout. Do you ever come across this predicament of beating yourself up after a cheat meal? What are your strategies to deal with something like that? How often do you fall off the wagon? #wellnessthatworks #nourishyourself #eatwellbewell #moderation #balance #mindfuleating
  • Morning #greensmoothies give me life!!! I talked about how to protect your #immunesystem on today’s Morning Om. Besides sipping on copious amounts of tulsi ginger tea & green tea, I also use a lot of warming spices, vitamin C rich food & turmeric in my food. Lots of soups too, with spices (I love making #vegan tomyum soup). Head on to my profile to watch the live. This #delish smoothie has bananas, spinach, coconut milk, chia, & oats 😁
  • #Damagecontrol & #Cheatmeals
I’ve summarized what to eat leading up to your cheat/treat meal, why it makes sense to be #mindful while doing so, the psychology you should have about it, and how to bounce back on #eatingright when you are done! ! #linkinbio
P.s. The spicy chicken and mango slaw burger at @high.joint was really good! Swipe right to see the deliciousness!
  • Let’s talk about #healthytreats. Justifying that they are “healthier” than regular treats doesn’t mean that you can pig out on them regularly. Remember the #caloriecount of a regular muffin and this #paleo #vegan one is probably the same. The ingredients are probably better in these ones.
Just because something is paleo or vegan, doesn’t mean it’s #healthy nor #nourishing. It’s just sometimes a better choice 🤷🏽‍♀️ if you want to cheat, cheat..whether we want to eat a healthier version of the foods you love most or not.Enjoy it, but go back to eating right in your next meal #makebetterchoices #makehealthierchoices #nomoregimmicks
Shall I talk about this in tomorrow’s Morning Om session? Let me know!
P.s. These vegan, #glutenfree & paleo muffins from @healthypatisserie are serious goals 🤤 Thanks @sarwa.co !
  • Be with someone who makes you laugh 💕
Hope you enjoyed my #instalive on a lovely #vegan #glutenfree breakfast! Tune in tomorrow as I share more #wellness stories with you on #MorningOm
Also, spend a little time with a loved one today. It’s important to appreciate people who stick by your side no matter what.
#ChaiandChurro
  • Me when someone tells me it’s impossible to #loseweight 😅
My #morningOm stories 5 times a week talk about leading a healthier life and debunking misinformation when it comes to modern diet advice. I’m still working on improving my presentation skills, thanks all for the feedback on them. I’m trying to be better everyday and your feedback helps me a lot, so keep helping me help you! Let me know what topics you’d like me to talk about and I’ll cover them 😁#haterstotheleft #hashimotosdisease #hashimotos #PCOS
