As F.C. and I got ready to head off for the weekend, we decided to do brunch nearby his place. Everytime I get off at the Damac Properties metro, Friends’ Avenue keeps looking at me from afar, almost beckoning me.
This time I managed to take him there (Can you believe he hasn’t tried this place even though he stays a building away? What would he do without me?). We really loved the warehouse-feel of the place with the bikes on the walls, the green plants and all-round hipster/start-up/I cycle all day err-day vibe.
Take a looksie here:
It took us a few minutes wait as the whole cafe was buzzing with chatter all around. I really liked the feeling here. To start off, we ordered a “Literally, the best” Benedict (with bacon, of course) and a “Back to Hawaii” French toast. For drinks, I ordered a fruit colada iced tea and F.C. got his coffee fix with an iced mocha. Now, I gotta say: Friends’ Avenue is Instagrammable as HELL! Check it:
Our food and drinks both arrived in record time, which made me really happy. My fruit colada tea was unsatisfactory though, even with the sugar syrup. It tasted like a flat Shani. F.C. on the other hand, really enjoyed his chilled mocha.
I really liked the food at Friends’ Avenue. The eggs benedict was made just how I like it (slightly runny on the inside). It went well with the mushrooms and bacon. However, I didn’t like the extremely thick slice of bread that went it. Overall however, I really enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the fresher vibes.
As for F.C., his Hawaiian french toast made me wanna be part of a luau. Excellent tropical flavours with fresh fruits. I can’t wait to be back to try their salads and the rest of their lunch menu!
