Anyone who knows me knows I detest the kitchen. While I thoroughly enjoy eating food from different cultures, cooking is definitely not my forte. I knew I was getting out of my comfort zone when I approached Cooking at home in Dubai to participate and promote their Italian cooking class at Miele.

We started off by making tiramisu

We first started our lesson by learning to make tiramisu. A super easy and effective dessert, it was done within minutes and put in the fridge before I could take a decent photo. However, it was super delicious! They also give you tips on where to purchase the ingredients and its substitutes.

We then learnt to make pasta from scratch. This was particularly difficult for me as it takes a lot of patience to knead the dough through before you put it through the pasta maker and thin down the dough.

We made a delicious rustic basil pesto to go with the pasta. Here are the results of our labor.

#Homemade #Italian goodness with @cookingathomeindubai at @mieleuae today! I have to admit, I’ve been a bit stressed lately, but making pasta from scratch was a welcome distraction and really fun! (not to mention, 100x times better than store bought pasta. never going back, guys!) @cookingathomeindubai is run by three, very passionate women who truly love what they do. Their 3-course classes are a steal at AED 230. Today I learnt how to make tagliatelle with pesto, pumpkin ravioli and tiramisu! #blogpost on my experience out soon! 😊 . . . . #tastemade #nom #omnomnirvana #inmykitchen #delish #eeeeeats #nom #omnomnom #dubaiblogger #uaeblogger #dubaifoodblogger #uaefoodblogger #iphoneography #foodography #tasty #huffpostetaste #f52grams #yum #dubaifoodie #feedfeed #DubaiPR #foodie #thatsdarling

We also made a lovely ravioli stuffed with pumpkin in a sage and butter sauce. You know, because life is just better with butter.

Overall, it was great fun cooking with these ladies and other avid students in the class. For a three course meal prep, it’s just AED 230, which is a steal. Their menu changes from week to week.

Check out their agenda here.
